Time Flies!

Well, here is it March already. Yeah!!! I can almost see the end of the school year from here. I can't believe that I let so much time slip by without a post. On the other hand, yes...I can believe it. I'm just not very good at journaling. "Know thyself." Anyway, it was a perfectly beautiful day today, and a Saturday, to boot. We slept late, then I read until noon, and then I went to Sean and Barb's to take Kitty the first communion dress I found at Stuff for her (it's beautiful!), as well as the two matching dresses I found for Kitty and Grace at the outlet mall Collette and I stopped at on the way home from Chicago last weekend. The girls and Barb and I took a walk around the area they live in, enjoying the beautiful weather. Then I came home and worked outside here, for the first time this year, raking gravel and such, and generally poking around. The rhubarb is up! And the grass is turning green! The old peonies by the garage were also peeking up--and I can hardly believe I really did this. I feel almost like I committed murder. I dug up two more of the hills of them, to make room for the new plants I plan to put in there. I felt wretched while I was doing it, but kept telling myself to be strong. I hope I don't regret it. They've been there soooooo long.... I keep trying to remember how agravated I get at them when they always flop over and lay in the mud! But still, they're almost like family. I wonder if Collette would like to plant some of them somewhere...
Tuesday, St. Patrick's Day, was also just gorgeous. We had Pat and Milt out for dinner, since it was also Pat's birthday, with corned beef, colcannon, and all the trimmings. It was a very pleasant evening. We even sat out on the deck for a while.
Yesterday was an all day inservice at school. I was asked to give my "story" by the superintendent, to all the rest of the teachers. It was actually enjoyable to do so, and Collette said I did a good job. I'm so looking forward to my "last day"!
