Well, at least it wasn't six months, this time. The big news, of course, is the birth of Fiona Clare McClellen on Feb. 11, 2010. It wasn't Ground Hog's Day, but it will do! She's beautiful and healthy, and we're so glad to meet her. Lots of dark hair! And her cousin, Aerin, is due to make an appearance any day now. Life is indeed good!
We spent the past weekend in Tulsa with the Brusts and Marcia Spring. We were glad to have the chance to see Marcia again. She is still fighting the good fight against her cancer, but we can tell it's wearing her down. Our dear, long-time friend is tired. The weather and conversation were good, as always, but all is tinged with sadness.
Johnny is in North Carolina this evening, to take part in a panel discussion. A chemical company flew him there for it. He'll be home tomorrow night.
I finally did the calculations today that I've been talking about for a while. (There's an online website for that, did you know?) The big day will be July 19, 2011--my celebrate life day. That day, I will be the same age as my mother was when she died. I certainly don't feel old enough to die.
Tomorrow I plan to leave in the morning for town and haunt the consignment shops for more glass. I just can't help myself! I'm going to take my creations to a craft show in Iowa City on April 11. Wish me luck.
