Well, the elections are over, for better or worse (worse, I'm afraid...) and I'm trying hard to ignore the whole thing. I'm living happily in my own little world--but it's okay, they know me here.
We've had a stretch of fabulous fall weather, really a marvelous Indian summer. I think it is coming to an end soon, though. We're trying to decide whether to go to to MP's football playoff game in Solon tomorrow. I'm leaning against it--it's going to be cold and we'll probably get beat, anyway.
I've made two batches of pear butter with pears from the tree by the little house. It's delicious, especially the batch with a bit of orange juice in it. There are still more pears, in a cart outside the back door right now, and if I can find time this weekend I'll try to get some of them canned. There's a big bucket of apples still out there, too. If only I didn't have to go to work every day!
Speaking of which, they finally came out with the early retirement policy! Yeah!!! I think we have to go to central office and apply for it next week.
We talked to Kelley tonight, and Pauls thinks he will be here next week to go to a conference of some kind in Iowa City. It will be so nice to see him! They'll all be here for Thanksgiving. I need to get busy planning that meal before long.
